Homemade Doggie Treats

Dog gone it, folks.  These two are hooked on my pumpkin, peanut butter dog treats.

We’ve been spending way too much money on dog treats, and I finally resolved to make my own.  I mean, these two will eat anything (and I mean anything), so why did I bother with the fancy store bought snacks?

Turns out, making dog treats is incredibly easy! And these treats make the house smell wonderful.

I used brown rice flour since our German Shorthaired Pointer doesn’t handle gluten very well.

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix until well combined.  Add a tablespoon or so of water until the dough pulls away from the bowl.

Roll out on a well-floured board until 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a cookie cutter.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes – until hard and crunchy.

Yummm.  Or should I say, “woof!”
